Mitesh Popat has been appointed as the new CFO of Flutterwave

This announcement comes nine months after the resignation of Oneal Bhambani, who had previously held the position until his departure.

Formerly employed at Citi, Popat had a variety of executive positions, including Chief Financial Officer for the Middle East and Africa as well as positions in Global Equities Sales and Trading. The management of Flutterwave's corporate financial responsibilities will fall under his purview starting this month.

In accordance with the statements made by the company, Popat is poised to be a key partner in guiding Flutterwave through the subsequent phase of growth and financial sustainability. Popat has twenty years of experience in providing worldwide financial services across a variety of markets.

It is my understanding that I have a profound comprehension of the business climate in Africa as well as the difficulties that are involved in operating a company in emerging markets. "I intend to make use of my experience in order to encourage the expansion of Flutterwave while simultaneously optimizing our business model in order to achieve long-term profitability," Popat stated.

Bhambani, who had only been with the finance business for 18 months when he departed, provides Popat with the opportunity to take over. Also leaving the company in March 2024 was Bode Abifarin, who had served as Chief Operating Officer of Flutterwave for six years and had been in charge of the company's operations. Concerns have been expressed about the impending initial public offering (IPO) plans of the company as a result of these significant exits.
